What “All-Inclusive” Actually Means in Egypt

Travel marketing uses “all-inclusive” loosely. The Egypt All-Inclusive Tours below have a strict definition: every package price covers 4★ or 5★ hotels (BB), full-board on the Nile cruise (3 meals daily + bottled water), all guided sightseeing, all entry fees to monuments and temples, all internal flights between Cairo and Aswan/Luxor, all transfers, an English-speaking Egyptologist guide, and 24/7 WhatsApp support from our Cairo office.

What’s NOT included: international flights to Cairo, optional add-ons (Abu Simbel domestic flight, hot-air balloon at Luxor, dahabiya upgrade, sound & light shows), tips for guide/driver/cruise crew (~$25–40/day), and personal expenses. We tell you up front so there are no surprises.

Maro’s Travel Tips for All-Inclusive Egypt Travellers

What I Tell Every All-Inclusive Booker Before They Pay

All-inclusive sounds simple but the small print can include surprises. These ten tips help you book the right package and avoid common “extras” that catch travellers out.

1

Confirm Whether Abu Simbel Is Included

This is the #1 surprise on all-inclusive Egypt tours. Some packages include Abu Simbel by flight ($300–450 value); others list it as “optional add-on.” If it’s in your dream itinerary, verify before booking. The 4-night cruise packages above include it; 3-night cruises usually don’t.

2

All-Inclusive ≠ All Drinks

On Nile cruises, “full-board” means breakfast + lunch + dinner + bottled water. Wine, beer, soft drinks, and bar drinks are charged separately and average $5–8 each. At Hurghada/Sharm all-inclusive resorts, drinks are usually included. Verify per package.

3

Tips Are Not Included — Budget $25–40/Day

Egyptian tipping (driver, guide, cruise crew, hotel staff) is not in the all-inclusive price. A 10-day tour requires roughly $250–400 in tips per person. We hand you a tipping guide on arrival so you can budget exactly. Don’t skip — it’s how Egyptian service-industry pay is structured.

4

Optional Excursions to Plan In: Hot Air Balloon, Felucca Sunset

The 05:30 hot-air balloon over Luxor’s West Bank ($90–100) and the Aswan felucca sunset sail ($20–30) are not in standard all-inclusive packages but are unmissable. Build $150–200 into your trip budget for these “optional” classics.

5

Which Hotel Categories Are You Getting?

Most Egypt all-inclusive packages use 4★ hotels in Cairo and 4★ Nile cruise vessels. Confirm specifics — there’s a real difference between Hilton Pyramids Golf, Steigenberger Pyramids, and a generic 4★. We name the hotel/cruise on every quote so you know exactly what you’re getting.

6

5-Star Upgrade Pricing Is Reasonable

Upgrading from 4★ to 5★ on a 10-day Egypt tour adds about $400–700 per person and gets you Marriott Mena House (pyramid view), Mövenpick Resort Sharm or Hurghada, and 5★ Nile cruise vessel. Often worth it for first-time visitors.

7

Single-Supplement Pricing Is Higher Than You Expect

Solo travellers pay 50–80% extra for single occupancy on most packages. We run several “no single supplement” departure dates per year for select tours — WhatsApp Maro for current dates if you’re solo and budget-conscious.

8

International Flights Are Always Excluded

Standard practice. Cairo Airport (CAI) is the main hub. Direct flights from London, Frankfurt, Paris, NYC, Toronto, Dubai, Doha, and Istanbul. Book 60+ days ahead for best rates.

9

Travel Insurance Is Recommended (and Cheap)

Travel insurance covering medical, cancellation, and lost baggage costs $50–150 for a 10-day Egypt trip. Strongly recommended. Egyptian private hospitals are good but bills can run high without insurance.

10

Cancellation Terms Vary — Read Before You Pay

Standard EPL all-inclusive cancellation: full refund 60+ days before departure (minus deposit), 50% if 30–60 days, no refund within 30 days. Force majeure exceptions apply. WhatsApp Maro before paying if you have any concerns.

A must do!

We chose this tour company to empower local guides and we were very satisfied with our decision. Maria is a passionate accredited Egyptologist who can answer every question. The transportation is modern, clean and always on time — difficult to manage in a city like Cairo.

Best of Egypt in 10 days

Maro and his team organised everything — Cairo, cruise, Abu Simbel, even a last-minute Alexandria add-on. Hotels were 5-star without the 5-star headache. Our guide Ahmed made the Valley of the Kings actually make sense. Will book again.
