3. Tomb of Bannantiu

   Banantio's tomb is in the city of Bawiti, in the Bahariya oasis. Bannantiu means "the soul of those who does not have it." When oasis wine was famous throughout ancient Egypt, especially during and around the Twenty-sixth Dynasty before the Persians took over, many oasis businessmen became wealthy. Based on the size and intricacy of his tomb, Bannantiu may have been a wealthy merchant or landowner.
