Our lowest complete tour is $1,205 per person (8 days: Cairo plus a 3-night Nile cruise, travelling south by sleeper train). That already includes 4-star hotels, the full-board cruise, a private Egyptologist, every entry fee and all transfers — it is a real, complete Egypt trip, not a stripped-down one. Could you go cheaper doing it fully independently? Slightly, if you book everything yourself, stay in hostels and skip the guide — but by the time you add the cruise, the entry fees, the internal travel and the risk of scams and wasted days, most travellers find our budget package costs about the same and removes all the stress. The one thing we will not do is quote an unrealistically low "from" price and then pile on compulsory extras at the end.

The savings come from three honest places: hotels are comfortable 4-star (and 3-star on the tightest budgets) rather than five-star; the Nile cruise is a good standard 5-star boat rather than an Oberoi or a dahabiya; and where possible we travel by sleeper train or share some elements to cut cost. What you do NOT give up: your private qualified Egyptologist, every single entry fee, private air-conditioned transfers, the full Nile cruise itself, and 24/7 support. In other words, we save on comfort and thread-count, never on the guide, the access or your safety — because those are what actually make or break an Egypt trip.

The difference between our budget and premium tours is the hotel category and the cruise vessel — not the guiding, the safety or the itinerary quality. A cheap price should buy you a simpler room, never a worse or riskier experience.

Included on every tour here: all accommodation, all internal Egypt transport (domestic flights or sleeper train, private car, the Nile cruise), all meals listed in the itinerary, every sightseeing entry fee, a private Egyptologist guide, and airport meet-and-assist. Not included: your international flight, your Egypt e-visa ($25, we help you), tips for guide/driver/crew, drinks beyond water and tea at meals, and clearly-marked optional extras (hot-air balloon over Luxor, entering the Great Pyramid chamber, scuba gear). A few honest levers: travel in the low season (June–September) when prices drop 15–25% (it is hot in Luxor and Aswan, so we start sightseeing early); choose the sleeper-train routing instead of domestic flights; travel as a pair or small group to share the per-person cost; pick a 3-star hotel category where offered; and skip the optional add-ons you do not care about. June, July and August are the cheapest months — package prices fall 15–25% because it is Egypt's hot season (Luxor and Aswan routinely hit 40°C / 104°F by midday). It is very doable: we shift sightseeing to early morning and evening, the Red Sea stays perfect for swimming, and the Nile breeze makes cruising pleasant. The shoulder months of May and late September give you most of the discount with gentler heat. The most expensive weeks are Christmas, New Year and Easter, so avoid those if budget is the priority and book 3–4 months ahead for the best low-season rates.
