The 2026 Egypt trip planner — top-rated itineraries, built by Egyptians

The Egypt Planners trip planner is the fastest way to get a real, costed, custom Egypt itinerary in your inbox. Pick one of the 6 starting templates below, or send us your dates and a one-line wishlist on WhatsApp, and we reply the same day with a fully built trip — line-by-line pricing, 2–3 hotel options at each city, and an itinerary you can actually use.

We are a Cairo-based, Egyptian-owned travel operator — not a reseller, not an OTA, not a global brand fronting local subcontractors. The same office that quotes your trip dispatches the airport transfer, books the hotel rooms, and pays the Egyptologist guide who walks you into the Giza Pyramids on day one. There is no middleman to email when something needs to change mid-trip — you message Maro on WhatsApp, and the change happens.

Most planner requests start with one of the 6 templates and end up looking quite different. Common changes: an extra Luxor day, swap to a small dahabiya cruise, an Abu Simbel add-on, an Alexandria day, an extension to the White Desert and Bahariya Oasis, or a beach extension. Whether you want a luxury Egypt holiday, a honeymoon, a family trip or a solo adventure, the planner has built it before — and will build it again, around your version of Egypt.

The planner process

How the Egypt trip planner actually works

Four steps from your first message to a confirmed trip. Free, same-day, unlimited revisions.

1

Send Maro your basics

Dates, group size, one-line wishlist — or pick one of the 6 templates as a starting point. WhatsApp, the form above, or email. Whatever's easiest.

2

Get a same-day custom quote

Within 4 hours during Cairo working hours we send a fully itemised itinerary, two or three hotel options at each city, and a transparent line-by-line price.

3

Revise until it's right

Free unlimited revisions. Most clients land on version 3 or 4 — extra Luxor day, swap a cruise vessel, hotel upgrade. We don't bill for any of it.

4

Confirm with 25% deposit

Once you sign off, a 25% deposit secures the trip. Final balance 30 days before arrival. We send a 40-page pre-trip pack one week before you fly.

Why Egypt Planners

Why use the Egypt Planners trip planner?

Cairo-based, Egyptian-owned travel operator — not a reseller. Six reasons it matters.

We live here, we built this

Maro and the team are born-and-raised Egyptian. Every guide is a qualified Egyptologist, not a part-time driver. The itinerary you sign off is the itinerary we run.

Free quote, free revisions

The planner has no fee. The first quote is free, every revision is free, no deposit asked at the quote stage. You only pay once you sign off on a final itinerary.

24/7 WhatsApp support

From the first quote until you're back home, you have Maro's direct WhatsApp. A flight changes at 2am? We're already on it before you wake up.

Flexible cancellation terms

Free date-change up to 30 days before arrival. Free name-change up to 14 days before. Industry-standard cancellation terms — no surprise penalties, all in writing.

5.0 stars on TripAdvisor

56 verified reviews, 98% recommend rate. Same company, same Egyptian founder, since 2013 — not a freshly-rebranded operator.

Free upgrade when you book early

Confirm 4+ months ahead and we throw in one free extra: hot-air balloon over Luxor, camel ride at the pyramids, or an Abu Simbel day trip. Your choice.

Not sure where to start?

Speak to Maro — no pressure, no sales pitch.

Send me your dates, how many of you are travelling, and what matters most. I'll reply the same day with a fully planned itinerary, line-by-line pricing, and 2–3 hotel options at each city. No commitment, no deposit asked at this stage.

A must do!

We chose this tour company to empower local guides and we were very satisfied with our decision. Maria is a passionate accredited Egyptologist who can answer every question. The transportation is modern, clean and always on time — difficult to manage in a city like Cairo.

Best of Egypt in 10 days

Maro and his team planned everything — Cairo, cruise, Abu Simbel, even a last-minute Alexandria add-on. Hotels were 5-star without the 5-star headache. Our guide Ahmed made the Valley of the Kings actually make sense. Will book again.

Insider advice from Maro

Ten tips for planning your perfect Egypt trip

After planning 1,200+ Egypt trips, these are the ten things I tell every traveller before we start. Bookmark this — it will save you a planner revision round.

01

Send Maro a one-line wishlist

Three things make a planner request fast: dates, group size, one-paragraph wishlist. Don't over-think it — we work back from a starting message and refine over revisions. The shortest planner request that ever worked: "Two of us, 8 days in March, want pyramids and a Nile cruise."

02

Pick eight days for a first Egypt visit

Eight days is the sweet spot — Cairo + 3-night Nile cruise + Abu Simbel. Anything shorter rushes Cairo or skips the cruise. Anything longer adds Alexandria or Red Sea time, which is great but unnecessary on a first visit. Five is the absolute floor.

03

Anchor on Cairo, cruise, or beach — not all three

Don't try to give Cairo, the Nile cruise, and Red Sea beach equal weight in under 10 days. Pick one as the anchor — usually the cruise for first-timers — and we plan the others around it without a single rushed morning.

04

Tell us hotel category, not specific hotels

Saying "5-star throughout" or "boutique 4-star" is more useful than naming hotels we may not control on your dates. We default to Marriott Mena House, Sofitel Winter Palace, Movenpick Aswan; we swap freely on request.

05

Decide standard cruise or dahabiya before we plan

A 5-star Nile cruise (140 cabins, big pool deck) is a different experience from a dahabiya (12 cabins, sail-powered, slower pace). Dahabiyas only run Esna–Aswan, take 5 nights, cost ~50% more. Decide first.

06

Lock Abu Simbel as a yes/no on day one

Abu Simbel adds $180–380 per person and shifts the whole Aswan day. Decide yes/no early so we can plan around it. Our 8-day Best-Seller and 10-day templates already include it; on shorter trips we add it.

07

For families, plan one fun thing per day

Kids do better with one historical site and one fun thing per day. Tell us ages 5–12 and we build that pacing — camel ride at Giza, cooking class in Aswan, cruise pool day. Family Egypt trips are roughly 30% of our planner volume.

08

For honeymoons, ask for the rooms first

Honeymooners care about rooms more than price. Pre-book pyramid-view rooms at Marriott Mena House and Nile-balcony cabins on the cruise — they sell out 4 months out for high season.

09

Build buffer days into Cairo, not Luxor

Cairo has more rest options; Luxor has more sites. If you want a day to recover from international travel, slot it on the front end in Cairo. We always recommend at least one full Cairo day before flying south.

10

Start the planner now — no fee, no commitment

There is no fee for the planner conversation, no cap on revisions, and no deposit asked at the quote stage. Start the conversation now and revise from there. Same-day reply during Cairo working hours.

Want our 40-page pre-trip pack (packing list, visa walkthrough, cultural dos & don'ts, Cairo etiquette, tipping card)? It's free for every confirmed Egypt Planners guest.

Questions we get asked daily

Egypt Trip Planner FAQs

Ten honest answers from our Cairo office — the same answers you'd get on WhatsApp.

How does the Egypt Planners trip planner actually work?

You send us a short message — your dates, your group size, and a one-paragraph wishlist (or pick one of the 6 templates above as a starting point). Within four hours during Cairo working hours, we send back a fully built itinerary, line-by-line pricing, and 2–3 hotel options at each city. You revise as many times as you like — extra Luxor day, swap the cruise vessel, add Abu Simbel, drop Alexandria — at no extra cost. Once you sign off, a 25% deposit confirms the trip; the final balance is due 30 days before arrival. We send a 40-page pre-trip pack one week before you fly. The whole process is run from one Cairo office, by Egyptians.

Is there a fee to use the trip planner or get a quote?

No fee, no commitment, no deposit asked at the quote stage. The customisation process — first quote, all revisions, hotel option research, internal-flight pricing, cruise vessel comparison — is free. We only invoice once you have signed off on a final itinerary. Most clients go through 3–4 versions of the trip before sign-off, and we don't bill for any of it. The first reply is usually within 4 hours during Cairo working hours (9am–6pm Egypt time, GMT+2).

How long should I plan my Egypt trip for?

Eight days is the sweet spot for first-time Egypt visitors — Cairo + a 3 or 4-night Nile cruise + Abu Simbel or Alexandria. Five days is the absolute minimum for Cairo + a Luxor flight (no cruise). Ten days gives you full Cairo, full cruise, Abu Simbel and Alexandria comfortably. Twelve to fourteen days is the right length if you want to add the Red Sea (Hurghada or Sharm El Sheikh) or the western desert (Bahariya, the White Desert, Siwa). We can also plan trips as short as a 4-day Cairo break and as long as a 21-day Egypt grand tour.

When is the best time of year to plan an Egypt trip?

October through April is peak Egypt travel season — comfortable temperatures in Cairo, Luxor and Aswan (20–28°C / 68–82°F), warm enough for Red Sea swimming, clear blue skies. November and March are our personal favourites because shoulder pricing kicks in but the weather is reliable. December 24 – January 5 and Easter week are the busiest periods (book 6 months ahead). June, July and August are hot in Luxor and Aswan (40°C / 104°F) but the Red Sea stays comfortable, and trip prices drop 15–25% — so summer is the cheapest time to visit Egypt.

How far in advance should I plan my Egypt trip?

For October–April (high season) plan at least 3 months ahead — Nile cruise cabins, Giza-view rooms and Abu Simbel flights all sell out. For Christmas / New Year and Easter week, plan 6 months out. For May–September (shoulder / summer) 4–6 weeks is usually enough. We can often still build a trip 10–14 days out, but you will have less choice of cruise vessel and less negotiating room on hotel categories. The earlier you start the planner conversation, the more upgrades we can include at no extra cost.

What's included in an Egypt Planners trip?

Standard inclusions on every itinerary built through the planner: airport transfers on arrival and departure, 4- and 5-star hotel accommodation with daily breakfast, all domestic flights or sleeper-train tickets inside Egypt, full-board Nile cruise where the itinerary includes one (breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea), all sightseeing entry fees to temples, tombs, pyramids and museums (including the Grand Egyptian Museum), an English-speaking Egyptologist guide for every site visit, and all ground transport in private air-conditioned vehicles. Excluded by default: international flights, your Egypt e-visa ($25 online), tipping, personal drinks and any optional excursions (hot-air balloon, dive gear, Great Pyramid chamber). Everything is itemised in the quote so you can see what moves the price.

Can the Egypt trip planner handle families with kids?

Yes — family Egypt trips are roughly 30% of our bookings. We typically pace family itineraries with one historical site and one "fun thing" per day (camel ride at Giza, cooking class in Aswan, sound-and-light at Karnak, cruise pool day, felucca sunset). Tell us the kids' ages on the first message — under 5, 5–9, 10–14, 15+ all need different pacing. We have run trips with kids as young as five. Family rooms (triple, quad, connecting) are pre-checked at every hotel before we send the quote.

Is Egypt safe for the kind of trip the planner builds?

Yes. The tourist zones we route through (Cairo, Giza, Luxor, Aswan, Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, Abu Simbel, Alexandria) are heavily protected. Tourism and antiquities police presence is high. Your private guide travels with you the entire day, and all transfers are in private, tracked vehicles. We do not route into the Sinai interior or near the Libyan border. US, UK, Canadian and Australian governments all currently list our operating zones as safe for travel with normal precautions — you can verify the latest advisory on your country's travel.gov site before booking.

Can the planner book flights, visas and travel insurance?

International flights: we can book them as part of your planned trip (we work with EgyptAir, BA, Lufthansa, Emirates and Qatar) but most travellers find slightly better prices booking directly with airlines. We are happy either way. Egypt e-visa: $25, applied online at visa2egypt.gov.eg, takes 5–7 business days — we send you the exact walkthrough after sign-off. Travel insurance: not included in the package, but strongly recommended. We can connect you to two providers we trust (World Nomads for under-65, Allianz for over-65) but you book direct.

What if I need to change my plans after booking?

Free date-change up to 30 days before arrival. Free name-change on the booking up to 14 days before. Cancellation: 100% refund of deposit minus any non-refundable hotel deposits up to 60 days before arrival, 50% between 60 and 30 days, 0% inside 30 days (industry-standard terms). Mid-trip changes (extra Luxor day, swap a cruise excursion, extend Cairo) are usually free if we can rebook at the same supplier rate; if there's a price difference, we just pass through the cost.
