It means: five-star hotels throughout (Four Seasons and St. Regis in Cairo, Sofitel Winter Palace in Luxor, Oberoi in Aswan), a deluxe or luxury Nile cruise vessel rather than a standard boat (the Historia, Oberoi Zahra, MS Tosca, Movenpick Royal Lotus), a private Egyptologist and private air-conditioned vehicle for your party only — never a shared group — VIP airport meet-and-assist with fast-track through passport control, and where possible early or after-hours access to major sites to avoid the crowds. Everything is tailor-made around you rather than fitted to a fixed group departure.

Our nine luxury tours on this page run from $1,530 per person (5-day five-star Cairo) to $5,610 per person (14-day grand luxury tour with Sharm El Sheikh). Most luxury travellers land between $3,200 and $4,800 per person for an 8–12 day trip that includes a luxury Nile cruise. Prices are per person based on two sharing and include five-star hotels, the luxury cruise vessel, all internal flights, all entry fees, a private Egyptologist and VIP transfers. For a top-suite upgrade, an Oberoi Zahra or Sanctuary cruise cabin, or a private dahabiya charter, the trip scales up accordingly — tell us your ceiling and we build to it. Solo travellers should budget a 40–60% single supplement at the luxury level.

For luxury cruises we book the top vessels on the Luxor–Aswan stretch: the Historia — the newest palace-style flagship on the Nile — the Oberoi Zahra, the MS Tosca, the Movenpick Royal Lotus, and the Sonesta Nile Goddess and Steigenberger for five-star without the ultra-luxury price. For travellers who want the most exclusive option, we also charter private dahabiyas — small sail-powered boats with four to ten cabins that stop at islands and villages the large cruisers cannot reach. We book specific cabins by number, and we will tell you honestly which vessel is sailing your exact dates rather than promising a boat that is not running.

Every luxury tour on this page is fully private by default. You get your own Egyptologist guide, your own chauffeured vehicle, and an itinerary paced to you — not a fixed group departure with strangers and a flag-holding guide. The only shared element is the Nile cruise vessel itself (you have your own cabin and private guide on board, but the boat carries other passengers), and even that becomes fully private if you charter a dahabiya. Because everything is private, the pace bends to you — slower with young children, more romantic and unhurried for a honeymoon.

For luxury travel, book earlier than a standard trip — the best five-star suites, the Old Cataract in Aswan, and cabins on the Oberoi and Sanctuary cruise vessels sell out months ahead, especially for October–April. We recommend 4–6 months for high season, and 6–8 months for Christmas, New Year and Easter. A private dahabiya charter should be booked as early as possible because only a handful sail. That said, we can sometimes assemble a luxury trip at shorter notice — you will simply have less choice of the very top cabins and suites.
