Day Tour Itinerary

Giza Pyramids

The Great Pyramids of Giza are one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the most famous. The three main pyramids in Giza are the Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure. There are also some other pyramids in the area for the wives of kings.

The Great Sphinx of Giza

The Great Sphinx of Giza is the giant Egyptian sculpture ever. Carved in the limestone of the Giza Plateau, it depicts a lion with a human head wearing a headdress. Over the centuries, the Sphinx has lost its chin and its original reddish color.

Valley Temple of Khafra

The valley temple was where the king’s mummy was prepared for burial and the mummification process was performed.

Lunch

Before continuing, we will take a break to eat and recharge. Lunch will be in a restaurant, and Egyptian food options are generally offered, including meat dishes, rice, and salads (drinks are not included).

Saqqara

Saqqara is home to another group of pyramids and beautiful monuments. The Saqqara necropolis includes the oldest pyramid in the world, the Pyramid of Djoser, or the Step Pyramid, with various other monuments.

Our group tour to the Pyramids and Saqqara was an unforgettable experience. The guide, Mohamed, was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Egyptian history, bringing the ancient world to life with his engaging stories and anecdotes. We marveled at the magnificent Pyramids of Giza, each a testament to human ingenuity and ambition. The Great Sphinx, standing sentinel in the desert sand, was a sight to behold. Saqqara offered a fascinating glimpse into the early stages of pyramid construction, with the Step Pyramid of Djoser a true marvel of engineering. The highlight for me was exploring the Bent Pyramid and Red Pyramid, lesser-known but equally impressive structures.

Family Traveller

Traveling with three young children can be challenging, but this day trip to the Pyramids and Saqqara was surprisingly smooth and enjoyable for everyone. Our guide, Ali, had a knack for engaging children and kept them entertained with interactive activities and storytelling. He even helped us find the best spots for family photos.

The pyramids were a source of awe and wonder for our children, sparking their curiosity and imagination. They loved climbing the sand dunes and exploring the hidden chambers inside the pyramids. The Saqqara necropolis offered a more hands-on experience, allowing them to touch ancient stones and learn about the lives of the people who built these magnificent structures.

This day trip was a perfect blend of education and entertainment, creating lasting memories for our entire family. We highly recommend it to anyone traveling with children and wanting to introduce them to the wonders of ancient Egypt.

Solo Traveller

As a solo traveler, I was hesitant to join a group tour, but I’m so glad I did! This day trip to the Pyramids and Saqqara was the perfect way to experience these iconic landmarks without feeling overwhelmed. The other participants were friendly and welcoming, and our guide, Ahmed, created a warm and inclusive atmosphere.

Ahmed’s knowledge of Egyptian history was truly impressive, and he answered all my questions with patience and enthusiasm. He even went above and beyond to help me capture the perfect photos. I particularly enjoyed exploring the Saqqara necropolis and learning about the fascinating burial customs of the ancient Egyptians.

This day trip was more than just sightseeing; it was an immersive cultural experience. I would highly recommend it to any solo traveler seeking an unforgettable adventure in Egypt.
