Itinerary for Giza Pyramids, Citadel, and Old Cairo tour

After a delicious breakfast at your accommodation, you will start your wonderful day tour by meeting your private tour guide specializing in Egyptology in a private A/C vehicle to start visiting the following:

Giza Pyramids

The Great Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the most famous. The three main pyramids in Giza are the Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure. There are also some other pyramids in the area for the wives of kings.

The Great Sphinx of Giza

The Great Sphinx of Giza is the largest Egyptian sculpture ever. Carved in the limestone of the Giza Plateau, it depicts a lion with a human head wearing what is called a headdress. Over the centuries, the Sphinx has lost its chin and its original reddish color.

Valley Temple of Khafra

The valley temple in which the king’s mummy was prepared for burial and where the mummification process was performed.

Lunch

Before continuing, we will take a break to eat and recharge. Lunch will be in a restaurant, and Egyptian food options are generally offered, including meat dishes, rice, and salads (drinks are not included).

Saladin Citadel

Sultan Saladin built a castle ” Saladin Citadel ” in Egypt to protect Cairo from the Crusader attacks, as it has a unique location as it is located on the hills near the center of Cairo. It was the seat of the government and the king in many eras. And there is the Mosque of Mohamed Ali.

Mohamed Ali Mosque

The Muhammad Ali Mosque was inaugurated in 1848 AD inside the Citadel of Salah al-Din. Turkish mosques inspired the construction of this mosque. It was built of limestone. The mosque has two minbars, and around the mosque’s dome, there are 6 medallions, including the names of God and Muhammad, the Messenger of God, and the names of the four rightly guided caliphs, who are Abu Bakr. Omar, Othman and Ali.

Old Cairo

Old Cairo includes the largest complex of religions, where there are many Islamic and Christian monuments, including the Hanging Church, the Coptic Museum, Omar Ibn Al-Aas Mosque, Al-Azhar Mosque, Salah El-Din Citadel, and others.

After these fruitful visits, we will return you to your accommodation to relax and spend a peaceful night.

Prices

  • Prices are in US dollars per person per trip and you can pay in any other currency.
  • Rates are subject to change in case of any changes in airport taxes, hotel rates, transport rates, or government taxes.
  • Rates are not valid during Christmas or New Year.
  • Travel insurance and entry visa charges are not included in the package.

Tipping in Egypt

Tipping is not included in any of our packages and is entirely up to the discretion of travelers. Although it is not mandatory, it is of great importance to the people who take care of you while traveling.

Extra Expenses

Extra personal expenses on the trip may include a food tour, alcoholic beverages, tipping, visa fees, recreational expenses, and other services not listed.

Following are the items with extra costs during the trek:

  • Additional transport that you require.
  • Tipping for the guide and driver after the trip.
  • In case of unforeseen events like bad weather conditions and eventual flight cancellations, you are responsible for extra hotel nights and meals.

Optional Visits & Entry Tickets

All our packages and tours of Egypt do not include entrance fees to special archaeological sites such as entering the pyramids from inside, the mummies’ room in Museum, or entering the Tutankhamun tomb in the Valley of the Kings in Luxor.

Booking Confirmation Policy

  • The customer receives a confirmation voucher via email within 24 hours of successful booking.
  • We are offering a low down payment of just 25% to secure your spaces on tour, including hotel rooms, cruise cabins, domestic flight tickets, and other travel-related services. The remaining balance can be paid up to two days before your arrival date or in cash upon arrival at the destination to your tour manager, making you’re booking a risk-free investment.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellation after confirmation with payment before 30 days of the commencement of the tour: 10% of the value of the tour package.
  • Canceling the tour 30 to 20 days before commencement of the tour: 25% of the value of the package
  • Canceling 19-15 days before commencing the tour: 50% of the tour cost
  • Canceling 14-11 days before commencement of the tour: 75% of the tour cost
  • Canceling before 10 days or less before the tour date: No refund for the tour

Children Policy

  • Up to 2 years: FREE
  • Age from 2 and below 6 years: 25% of adult price
  • Age from 6 up to 11 years: 50% of adult price
  • Ages 12 and Up: adult price.

The “Trip To Giza Pyramids & Citadel And Old Cairo” excursion was an absolute highlight for our family of four and we had a great time. The tour was designed to be kid-friendly, and it included interesting games as well as information that kept our children interested and engaged the whole time. I’m a solo traveler, and I was a bit nervous about visiting Cairo on my own. But I’m so glad I booked this tour! My guide, Fatima, was amazing. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and made me feel safe and comfortable the entire time.

We visited the Giza Pyramids, the Citadel of Saladin, and Old Cairo. All of these attractions were incredible, and Fatima did a great job of explaining their history and significance. I especially enjoyed visiting the Khan El Khalili Bazaar, where I was able to buy some souvenirs for my friends and family back home.
